Dr. Matome served as Chief Executive Officer from 2001 to August 2005.
During his tenure, the BSE worked through an institutional strategic-planning process involving staff, including development of mission, vision and priorities and a SWOT analysis. His earlier biography describes the exchange growing from a small operation into a recognised African exchange.
The enterprise chapter
As founding CEO of the Local Enterprise Authority, Dr. Matome helped lead the institution charged with supporting Botswana’s small, medium and micro enterprises.
LEA’s work included entrepreneurship, business advisory services, incubation, access to finance and regional opportunity research. Its 2014 reported figures reflect institutional work since establishment during his leadership period.
